Urban Boho Romance: Macrame with Black, Blush & Peach Detailing

Rethinking what we mean by the term 'Boho' in our latest styled shoot on The Boho Bride Guide blog. This exciting, urban industrial editorial proves that all you free-spirited adventurers out there, dont have to choose the countryside to a create a relaxed, boho inspired wedding celebration space. The contrast between macrame hangings and dried florals against the industrial warehouse backdrop works perfectly and creates a 'bohodustrial' WOW factor.

We hope this provides you with inspiration for your upcoming boho inspired wedding day. Enjoy!

Film created by our fabulous approved supplier Kristie from Daze Photography and Film.

The Industrial Wedding Venue:

New Craven Hall is a unique wedding venue for the modern free-spirited couple, with lots of warehouse character and an exposed metal framed ceiling, providing the ultimate urban industrial vibe. In the heart of Leeds just a stones throw from the city centre, this urban luxe venue creates an exciting blank canvas, with it's exposed brick walls, concrete floors and large metal beams, combined with warm lighting and soft furnishings that create the perfect foundations to style with those all important bohemian touches.

The Inspiration & Decor Styling:

Warm blush and dark caramel tones, with accents of monochrome throughout set the scene. The aim was to create a warm and romantic feel with an overall modern bohemian vibe. The concept and editorial planning was a collaboration between Kristie from Daze Photography and Film, Kim from Props and Knots Hire and Hannah from Botanical Cakes. Bringing together a fusion of ideas for the styling, an eco friendly ethos and a shared love of all things bohemian.

Props and Knots Hire is a wedding styling and decor business, the perfect match for a bohemian styled wedding, with various macrame hangings and wedding arches available to create the perfect backdrop for your wedding ceremony, top tables and cake displays. Kim created the stunning macrame dream catcher wall hanging which hung on the wooden hexagon, it was a real show stopper! 24 hours in the making! As well as hiring her pieces you can also buy them from Indie Rose Macrame.

The table settings were adorned with macrame place mats, silver edged glass plates, sunbleached peach napkins, black cutlery and glasses for a modern urban boho look. Kate from Sashes and Covers worked her magic on the chair sashes for the ceremony, tying them to the side so that candles and pampas grass in vases could line the aisle next to them.

The Wedding Cake: Orchid Sugar Flower Detailing:

The showstopper 5 tiered wedding cake and cake favours were the creation of one of our valued and super talented approved suppliers, Hannah from Botanical Cakes. Hannah blew the team away with her creativity; hand crafting orchid sugar flowers and lace with added palm leaves and a bird cage insert. All the colours were tied in with the theme and the black paint splats on the white cake framed beautifully by the black arch definitely gave it the wow factor!

The second cake had peach, neutral and caramel tones and was embellished with wafer paper lace and fans. Placed so beautifully around the cake and the fairy lights within the perspex was genius! The heart and cakesicle favours were finished with scalloped lace which matched the dress. So much attention to detail!

The Bohemian Inspired Florals:

The stunning floral displays and bridal bouquet were provided courtesy of  Mary and Mai who creates striking rental installations for weddings and events. For this editorial they created 2 floral pillars that could be broken down to smaller displays to repurpose for the evening decor, a pampas and dried palm leaf cloud, a stunning bouquet with silk orchids, a small display for the top table and an incredible flower crown.

The statement floral headpiece really was the crowning glory with black spikes and flowers for a dreamy romantic yet edgy look. The main benefits of having rental floral installations as opposed to fresh flowers, are the costs being significantly cheaper, as well as the 'reuseability' of all rental installations, making them a viable option as a more eco friendly option.

The Edgy Boho Bridal Look

The stunning Giusy C lace gown from Limelight Occasions was perfection with it's scalloped edge spilt front teamed with the flower crown and boots for an edgy bohemian look. The subtle sequins nestled within the lace glistened in the candlelight.

The second look was a bridal jumpsuit with detachable overskirt and leather biker jacket for an urban boho vibe. Sarah Atkinson created a stunning makeup look for model kayleigh, with peaches, nude and blush tones. She looked absolutley flawless, so natural with the added lashes for a hint of glamour.

Bold Modern Wedding Stationery

The bold modern font, coupled with the text that matched the neon signage, the textured paper and the uber cool patterned envelope was absolutely perfect to show off the couples super cool and love for life personality. Leanne from Sheaf Stationery cleverly designed the curved edged save the date cards that could be made into a heart shape and the signage with 'You Got The Love', the 'couples' first dance song.

Beth from No 12 Weddings created the cool and contemporary 'Welcome', 'Take a Seat' and 'Cards & Gifts' signage. Using modern fonts and neutral colours it gave a chic and exclusive look. The copper frame matched the copper handles of the suitcase for the cards & gifts tables and the wooden hanger was perfect for the welcome sign.

Finishing touches were the 'Happily Ever After' neon sign from I do Hire and the black and white heart shaped confetti from Your Confetti which tied everything together nicely.

The Photography and Film

Photography was predominantly without flash to enhance the candle light and fairy lights to give a soft glow and captured by one of our very talented approved suppliers Kristie from Daze Photography & Film. Flash was used occasionally to brighten the scene so that all the lovely details could be seen clearly. Kristie also captured the day on film, which showed a snapshot of how the day could flow from ceremony to evening.
