Are you about to embark on one of the most exciting and daring adventures of your life? I hope so! Let’s find out!
"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. " Hellen Keller
.
- Be remarkable—that is, worth talking about and getting excited over.
- Have a level of perceived risk.
- Bring about personal growth.
I think that getting ‘married’ certainly fits the bill here and an Adventure Wedding definitely has elements of all these statements included.
.
So, what is an Adventure Wedding?
There are no rules to define what a Boho Adventure Wedding is, but I like to think of it as an intimate elopement or micro-wedding that celebrates everything that you love about each other, your life; the beautiful natural world and your love of travel and adventure.
An adventure wedding isn't about themes and colour-schemes although you may have one. It's all about having an unforgettable experience. Your wedding day should celebrate who you are as a couple and what you enjoy doing together. This after all will be your most exciting and daring adventure yet. By having a Celebrant-led Boho-inspired wedding day you will be able to say your vows to each other in any place you want, day or night, in a way that means something personal and meaningful to you.
You can have a ceremony that’s all about you - unique, unusual, unconventional and the best one... UNBORING!
So here are my top tips to add some fun and adventure into your day:
Tip 1 - Pick your best Season or Activity
How do you imagine your Wedding? Is it a winter, spring, summer, or an autumn adventure that suits you? What type of climate do you love? Thinking of your favourite season and your favourite activity can be an easy way to start narrowing your list and give you a place to start.
.
Tip 2 - Location, Location, Location
Where have you always dreamed of exploring? Where was the most beautiful place you ever visited? You may find something similar right here. Cornwall has so many amazing wild locations that you can explore, each with differing levels of risk (think slippery steep cliff paths, incoming tides, muddy fields and forests etc). If you are planning on having an Outdoor Wedding here, you can choose to have your ceremony in a sea-cave, on a hidden beach, cliff tops, meadows, woodlands, a castle rooftop, day or night. Where does your wild, bohemian spirit want to escape to? Many couples choose to elope to Cornwall and share the moment just with each other or one or two close friends.
“ I’ve fallen in love with adventures, so I begin to wonder, if that’s why I’ve fallen for you.” E. Grin

Tip 3 - Travel in style, your style.
A real adventure isn't just about the destination, it’s about the journey. And how you travel along the way can add to the fun and adventure of it all. Do you want to arrive at your ceremony in a kayak? A tandem bicycle, a horse and cart, tractor, helicopter, hang glider, sports car, hot air balloon? You can do it! It's all about expressing your love and passions, together! That feeling of facing a challenge together whether it's about how or where you want to get ‘married’ or anything else life throws at you and then overcoming it, is something that adventurous couples know well. It’s what makes your bond strong and keeps it alive.
Tip 4 - Bring your Boho Adventure to you.
With the Pandemic restricting our travel plans, you may not be able to have your adventurous boho-ceremony exactly where you wanted to. By being creative and thinking outside the box you may be able to bring your location to you! Almost everything you want or need can be bought online so even in lockdown you could get your items delivered to your door. Having a wedding during these crazy days is an adventure in itself!
Have you thought about having a ‘woodland wedding’? Hire lots of tall trees and shrubs from a local supplier to place in your back garden and create your own woodland setting. Having a few hale bales, blankets, cushions etc can create a similar setting without the travel costs. Hang lanterns from the branches and order a lovely hamper of tasty treats for you both to enjoy. If you wanted to have your Adventure Elopement or small wedding in a foreign country, what are the foods and drinks, colours, decor, fragrances that remind you of it. Are you able to replicate any of it in your hometown? Signs, posters, fabrics and other decor can infuse your setting with a touch of your original dream wedding setting for 15 people that includes everything you need to style your setting beautifully.
And don't forget with the wonders of modern technology you can even have a ‘zoom ceremony’ and have your wild elopement adventure wedding later- 2 different adventures, 1 love story!
‘It doesn't matter where you’re going, it’s who you have beside you ’.

Tip 5 - Whose with you?
Look for people who share your passions when you're looking for your Wedding Celebrant, your Photographer and your Suppliers. With your Boho-wedding, this is even more important than ever. You may not know them well but if they share or understand your interests, they will help you create your wedding vision and add to your wedding adventure better than anyone else.
“ As soon as I saw you I knew a grand adventure was about to happen.”
You’ve got yourself an ADVENTURE WEDDING!
