End of Summer Romantic Elopement at Stanley House

This stunning editorial harnessed the beauty of the changing seasons. As the summer ends and autumn approaches, this team of super talented wedding suppliers wanted to create an early Autumnal elopement shoot inspired by the beautiful grounds of Stanley House. After a tough couple of years for the wedding industry, Sophie Jakeman from SJ Faces Beauty wanted to highlight the beauty of a pared back elopement wedding can still create a sensational wow factor that is full of fun and love ... we totally agree!

"Embrace the seasons & cycles of your life. there is magic in change."

Wedding Photography

Emily Robinson Photography is a North West wedding photographer who says she jumped at the chance of working with this great group of suppliers. For Emily, being part of an editorial shoot that encapsulates the of love between two people and celebrates the LGBTQ community was an honour and a privelidge.  Emily loves to capture the true connection between couples, combined with a lot of natural movement. Sarah and Char didn't need much directing, as their chemistry and their sweetness towards each other translated through the lens.

The over head shot of Sarah and Char is one of Emily's favourite photos. The combinations of them both lay on one of the dresses creating a full white backdrop and the connection between the couple as they faced in towards each other is everything. Emily also made full use of Stanley House's stunning hill top location and suggested getting the couple into the open field which was surrounded by rolling hills. Because both ladies wore very feminine outfits, Emily was able to create images of beautiful symmetry, with char's skirt and sarah's cape.

Bridal Hair & MUA

Sophie from SJ Faces Bridal Hair & Makeup wanted to create a look for each bride that was effortlessly thrown together; that a bride could do for herself for her elopement. Being able to work on two beautiful models meant she could show two autumnal makeup looks, they changed the hair when the outfits where changed to complement the jewellery. Using a burnt red eyeshadow for Char, it really made her blue eyes pop. Sarah wanted the brides to complement each other but still have their own style, which is why she created a slick but soft ponytail for Sarah & a Boho Bun for Char.

The Bridal Outfits

The stunning bridal outfits were designed by Daniel Chu, he took inspiration from the venue and overall artistic direction from the shoot organiser.
The brides looks are coordinated to compliment each other while showing the personality and style of the individual wearing the creations.
Daniel says he was kindly invited to collaborate on this shoot as he had worked on other projects with the photographer.
Daniel added that this was a great way to support for each other and show diversity and inclusivity in the work we do as creatives.

Wedding Jewellery

Sarah-Jane from Bish Bosh Becca created the jewellery and hair accessories for this shoot. Sarah said she had the absolute joy of being given full creative independence to design and make jewellery that not only met the mood of the shoot but also complemented the stunning outfits. 4 sets of jewellery and hair vines and pins were created specifically for this shoot, some incorporating the autumnal golden colours of the mood board, we are just obsessed.

Autumn Inspired Wedding Flowers

The bouquets for this shoot were created by Stef from Honey's Hideaway along with the cake flowers. When Stef received the creative brief from Sophie, she opted to go for similar shaped bouquets but in different colour variations. With one being jewel colours of plum/magenta and the other warm oranges and sandy nudes to reflect the array of rich colours in Autumn. Charlotte and Sarah’s bouquets included Dahlias and large quicksand and blueberry Roses as the statement flowers. They were mixed with smaller more delicate seasonal flowers like Astilbe, Asclepias and Lysimachia to create texture and a little depth with the overall look of the designs.

Fresh Flower Wedding Cake

The cake was designed by Elizabeth Anna Cake Design and to make a feature of the beautiful fresh flowers from Honey’s Hideaway, with stencilling adding some texture to the cake itself. They used a floating tier for some images to show that cakes don’t have to be stacked traditionally anymore but you can have some fun with the design. We think this cake looks scrumptious!

The Celebrant Led Ceremony

The elopment ceremony was conducted by Ceremonies by Nikki, who is a civil celebrant based in Yorkshire. Nikki creates personalised, unique and fully inclusive ceremonies and welcomes the privelidge of conducting ceremonies for the LGBTQ+ and Equality community, as well as loves to incorporate cultural and heritage traditions into celebration proceedings.

The Elopement Venue

Situated in Mellor (in between Preston and Blackburn), Stanley House Hotel & Spa is privately owned and opened in 2004 following a spectacular conversion of the ruins of a 17th century manor house, titled Stanley House. The Grade II listed building, demonstrating its heritage is now complemented with opulent modern additions and also benefits from unspoiled views of the Ribble Valley countryside. This refreshing fusion of the conventional and contemporary makes Stanley House the number one destination of choice.
