Today Zuza will be sharing her 'One Love' Elopement Inspiration Shoot with us, and proving that however you choose to celebrate your special day, in true bohemian style - whatever you want goes...

The Inspiration
In the middle of a global pandemic, I really wanted our elopement shoot to show that love is love, and whether you’re getting married in a grand manor hotel or the back garden that the results are the same; a couple who tied the knot! I believe that elopements and intimate weddings could be the future of the wedding industry, and I think more couples will be choosing to have a mini celebration just the two of them, leaving the proper knees up with all their loved ones for a later date.

The name One Love was inspired by the amazing ‘Coral Heart’ street art created by @louismasai which use to be on the graffiti wall by Tooting Market. The ‘Coral Heart’ was a part of his ‘save the coral reef’ series, still present on the walls of many countries. He signs all his artwork with ‘One Love’. The Hullabaloo Collective passionately stands for love for all, regardless of background, gender, ethnicity, disability, or sexual orientation, so it only seemed appropriate to give this shoot the same name. Celebrating diversity means everything to me. After all, I live in diversely rich South London that I love so much.

Shoot Styling
I wanted to show that Boho doesn’t necessarily have to be whimsical or festival/barn in style, but can fit right in within an urban setting.

The retro colour pallet of blush pinks, oranges, yellows, and baby blues was reflected in the florals, table dressing, Hattie’s stationery with my favourite 70s groovy font, and bridal shoes.

Bold Boho Wedding Flowers
Catherine Short Floral Design's style matched what I had envisioned and the floral cloud above the sweetheart table pulled the courtyard look into a really stylish concept. Catherine also hit the nail on the head with the rest of the florals for this shoot, adding lots of bold boho colours.
The Floral Boho Wedding Cake
The simple buttercream wedding cake for two, adorned with edible flowers was a perfect addition to this elopement. Not only did Bronya’s cake look exceptional, but it was a real cake that the couple got to cut!

The Bridal Outfit
Featuring a beautiful sequin bridal gown as well as a two-piece balloon sleeve blouse with wide palazzo pants by the one and only Poppy Perspective, and beautiful headpieces by The Lucky 6 Pence, the styling reflects the cool modern boho. The bridal shoes were from ASOS.

The Groom's Attire
The groom’s shoes were from Ted Baker and he wore his own suit. I also made sure that the shoot represented the times it took place in and had face-masks specially made; bridal masks by Poppy Perspective and grooms mask by Bombini Studio.

Intimate Wedding Venue
I wanted to create an intimate courtyard celebration for two at the Goldfinch, my little local cocktail bar in Tooting. All the props were mine or apart from the bar’s tables. A true DIY style, for the true impromptu elopement celebration for two. I created a sweetheart table with a couple of peacock chairs, retro rya rugs, a vintage fringed tablecloth, retro glassware, and crockery, underneath a suspended floral installation. It was meant to be simple, intimate, and cute, yet stylish. We also took some great shots along Tooting High Street, giving the shoot that urban feel.

Capturing little details of the day, the true love for adventure, showing that it doesn’t matter where you tie the knot as long as it has meaning and memories dear to you both – like the little cocktail bar where you had your first date. Jay & Lex are fellow Wedding Breakfast Club members and it was so nice to work with creatives who feel the same way about smaller weddings and the future of our industry.
